Which is why I posted it in the Random $h!t Thread, and not the news forum.

I don't know what a Mass Airflow Meter actually is or does but since having it replaced in my car a couple of weeks ago my car has been noticeably more responsive.

MAF sensor - measures the amount of air and communicates it to the ECU which prepares the correct amount of fuel. Known to get clogged up. Often doesn't need replacing but just cleaning.

Yeah it uses a wire to measure the resistance (more airflow, wire is colder so the resistance is higher) in older ones and can need replacing, esp on old VAG Turbo'd cars

Cheers guys. Mine's a ten year old Rover turbo diesel. The garage said it just wasn't working at all so needed replacing. I can certainly tell the difference now there's a fully functioning one in the car again. Mark

Last week the foxes took my flip fops that I bought in Miami but left one partially chewed in the garden.
Last night they brought me back 2 pairs of ladies knickers, pink baby girls tights and an old tea towel. Fair trade?
