I'm taking my daughter to insomnia 52, (it's a gaming festival - she loves minecraft) on the 23rd and I won't get home in time to see it, so I've got two options... watch it at the in-laws, which would probably mean listening to complaints of how crap it is and how it hasn't been the same since Tom Baker, or wait until the repeat... BLOODY GAMES FESTIVAL! Grrrrr

Or, you know, record it and watch it when you get home. When did we stop doing that?

Yeah, that sounds like a plan. Also, apologies to whoever suggested recording it, (I can't see previous posts whilst quoting on Tapatalk) if it sounded like I was being snarky. Been doing the garden and my back hurts! Sent from my big ass Sony Xperia Z Ultra tabphonelet, using Tapatalk 4.

So.. hmm.
Quite like Capaldi once we got past all the 'I haven't seen this face before' flannel. Much more of an 'old school' Doctor IMO, got a certain menace to him. As an episode I didn't think much of it though, bit of a rehash of old ideas. And what have the done to that Sontaran bloke, he used to be quite fun but now he's just a completely unlikeable cock.

I think we'll see the new Doctor properly next week. Shove him in front of a Dalek and with the bugger sweat Actually, I'm thinking we'll get an Eccleston type Doctor. By that I mean it papers there's an actor who can carry a lot more that Smith or Tennant could - I liked the way Eccleston made the do our seem almost dangerous, and he could change a scene's tone in a beat. It looks like Capaldi will be doing that. I hope he has the material that will let him. This could be good. What are they thinking with that title sequence, though? I'm not sure I like that. I do like that the music doesn't sound like an orchestra has been invited to a rave, which is a good thing. I the music does need to be more strident. It still isn't menacing enough.

Excuse my ignorance, just curious as usual... Has Doctor Who always maintained continuity? As in the very first series leads up to Capaldi?

I think it's quite hard to maintain continuity once you start travelling in time . Who writers definitely have been happy to rewrite the shows history if it seemed the easiest thing to do.

Did that happen more when Eccleston came along would you say, or has it always been so? I personally wouldn't care myself, but I know how some fans get!
