I'm not 100% sure how much of it was intentional, but I think if you cause someone else's entry to a round to be ruined, you should be considered last in that round at least and possibly disqualified. Not sure Iain would have stayed anyway, but that was so inconsiderate.

Sue Perkins tweeted to say it was out of the freezer for only 40 seconds. Even so why would that woman remove someone else's ice cream and not apologise. I don't like her anyway.

I thought they might have said they would get rid of no one and then two next week
However he should have presented a icecream less baked alaska - got some credit and would have probably stayed in

Nothing like a bit of constructed shenanigans to keep the viewers glued.

Removing it to put stuff in isn't bad in itself, the fact no one told him/put it back is pretty unforgivable, not even an apology from what I remember. Not the first time there has been an 'accidental' sabotage, but at least the person apologised about it. Given the nature of the challenge I'd have thought something like a quick/blast freezer would help them produce something better

It's a very fortuitous coincidence, but I think it is only that. The series was filmed months ago. Unless they've gone back and done a whole bunch of very hurried editing, there's no way they could 'write her out' due to the public reaction. I wonder what the rule is though if one of the contestants drops out; do they bring the last eliminated contestant back, or do they just not eliminate anyone the first week that that person should have taken part but was missing (i.e. effectively eliminating that person in their absence)?

Apparently this week's GBBO is the front page item in tomorrow's Sun newspaper. The headline is 'Baking Bad'. I'm no fan of the paper but you have to say that's genius.

I didn't see the programme, but what I can tell you is that home made ice cream, especially fresh out if the machine, melts very quickly. OK, not liquid in 40 seconds, but it will lose cohesion pretty rapidly.
That said, nothing anyone can do about it because it's all been recorded. Done, and dusted.
