Inspired by that, I realised most people can 'get away' with just their phone. But how many here actually carry some sort of personal computer with them most of the time? For business, pleasure, or both?

I have a netbook that's used rarely in work (the odd printout, file exchanging), and a tablet that's mostly for gaming, though I can turn my phone into a wi-fi hotspot for it and do sometimes. But as for carrying something around with me, the only thing I can be arsed taking is my Kindle because it fits in my coat pocket. My mobile covers most other scenarios.

In regards to the link, how guilty are you of parking up in a cafe with a device? :)

I own neither a laptop nor a tablet so it's a bit of a non-issue for me.
I must confess however that I do now twiddle with my phone more now I've actually got one than can access the internet reliably.

I take the tablet to work with me, but I only use it for meetings.

Going out around town, it stays at home, as does my phone quiet often - if I go with other family members.

If I go into town on my own, then I take my phone with me so that I can listen to my audio book. I wouldn't use it in a restaurant or café though.

I rarely take the tablet out of the house - it's mainly used for sofa surfing, and watching iplayer when I'm preparing food in the kitchen.

Never.
I take my laptop to work, but never when I'm out and about. I don't own a tablet.
My mobile is fine for internet on the move.

When I was at university, the laptop would come with me when I visited home. That was about it. Even now, my tablet stays at home unless I need to take to work for a specific purpose, and that has occurred only twice.
