Great. Just been informed that there are going to be learning walks taken place at work next week. So, yet again, there's a good chance that I'm going to be observed with a class that I've never even met before.

I really need to invent some new swear words, as the existing ones don't begin to convey my current feelings!

Cocking cheese monkey? Arsehat?

Nope. Not even close. In fact, I'd say that they are relatively complimentary.

my usual swearing is "bloody Italians" but I think it'd midly xenophobic.

Looks like the union are on the case... emails are now flying about. We'll see what happens, though I suspect I already know. That would be nothing, then

Got an email from my boss today, (they're not meant to email us during the weekend) saying that there are not enough students to run the Thursday evening class they asked me to teach, but it's fine because they've got a class on Wednesday evening and she'll phone me tomorrow to discuss the options.

Firstly, I told her I can only teach on Thursday evenings as we're in the champions league this year and I might get to go to some matches.

Secondly, I don't work Mondays and I'm not going to spend my time discussing work, unless I'm being paid to do so.

I'll quote £75 per hour lol

Sent from my big ass Sony Xperia Z Ultra tabphonelet, using Tapatalk 4.

Don't forget overtime + minimum call durations

I've just been told a previously parked project is due in 2 weeks, there is 4 weeks of worth and it's apparently already a month late yet the client still haven't completed blocking tasks so it's apparently all my responsibility....

So first week back in the tech role.
4 missing 60d batteries (£65 each) and just discovered a row of uv filters sat on the shelf instead of the lenses they should be on. Start going through the cameras and discover a chipped lens front element.
My colleague appears entirely uninterested or unfussed.

[LIFTED] right I am.

Also presently being compounded by the fact my boss has said I shouldn't do the training we'd agreed to in my appraisal.

I'm a Maths teacher, but this has me confounded...

How the actual [LIFTED] does 1.00pm to 9.00pm count as a half day?

Being the proactive team player I am, I may start taking a urine sample to work. If they insist on taking the piss on a daily basis, I do feel that this is the best way I can help them.

It depends if you're on an hourly contract or not I'm guessing?
saying that I'm contracted for 9-5.30 with 1hr break and I do 7.30 til 5 or more.
Is it expected of you to work overtime?

on that subject, IT have just booked us for another complete outage at the weekend! i'm getting thoroughly fed up with all the downtime. It's not because they work office hours that everyone does.

I'm on a .5 contract, which means I should be working two and a half days a week.

Since the beginning of term I have been working a minimum of three days a week, and my manager keeps saying that I'll get the time back... at some stage.

I'd happily work five days a week, if they'd pay me, but not only will they not give me more hours, they are sending me to the other side of the city, (I have to pass at least five other campuses, all of which need Maths tutors) to get to my place of work. It's the old "Oh, send John there, he won't mind" routine.

Enough is enough.

Stupid clientside, spend half an hour fixing a bug because they renamed a document type on a site that is just about to go live, been populated with content and didn't check for the repercussions

"Oh that might have been me"

well you can fix it then
