I’m towards the latter end of series 1 of the X Files and Mulder and Scully are tracking down weird things. I’m pretty sure that by the end of season 9, Mulder and Scully were pretty much working out of motel room, with nothing to do with the FBI any more.

I used to love that show until it became clear they didn't know what to do with the concept they'd built on for years. It was my first experience of what is now called Lost syndrome. By me ;)
