The “Internet of Things” is likely what the future holds, but it’s a future that has it share of security concerns. As more and more devices are making their way online, hackers will have newer points of entry into our lives.

Case in point: a security researcher has shown that Canon Pixma printers can be hacked to run custom code. As an example, he loaded the game Doom onto the printer.

Car insurance claim on the gf's car 'sorted'

I say sorted, they are repairing it without excess and without no claims while they are looking at the dispute with the other driver

(they scraped her car in a petrol station and failed to report it, insurers said they could have done better handling it after failing to get the CCTV footage within 30 days when we could have gotten it ourselves if needed under a FOI request, then fobbing us off saying it was unusable)

See tales of fail thread. I called Support, but they hadn't turned on shadow copying on the server, so couldn't recover the deleted file.

A colleague had been checking the contents and had a 15 minute old copy in read only mode! He saved that and I didn't have to redo the last 3 hours work! :D

Today I was proved right. It has taken some time but chuffed to know I was right, not that there was really any doubt.

Gimp suits should never be worn to work parties?

Not sure where you think I work?  :?:

No it was a network issue. Not exciting.

EDIT Now I'm curious if you would've typed that if I was male? It's very inappropriate.

I wouldn't have changed my response if you were male. It would've been just as inappropriate. :o

Internal flights in Japan for £3.40 thanks to using air miles. I'll take that thank you!

Hopefully I've just got an Arkham Origins figure set for £37 (Amazon UK listing, borked as usual) instead of £52 (Amazon US, customs charges yada yada yada).
