Ecosystem for organisation

Afternoon all,

I'm in need of an ecosystem to organise "stuff", by ecosystem I mean something that I can access via Mac and iOS (specifically iPhone), and browser access would be nice but not required. Offline use is a *must*, as I still manage to find myself in lots of places that don't have WiFi and seem to be lined with lead...

I'm a very infrequent user to organise type software, having not all that much stuff to organise (as far as I know...)
The thought came to me yesterday as I was dragged around a wedding fayre in Porthcawl , it would be useful to be able to quickly take notes, add photos, maybe annotate them, add to-dos (some with deadlines, others open-ended), but it would be great if 'projects' could be compartmentalised, e.g. "wedding", "programming", "programming/foo", "book", "to blog", etc. Item dependencies would also be good, for instance with the wedding, catering is probably dependent on venue.
I've looked at Evernote and feel that it would probably be a great tool, however I think that the Pro package is required to make heavy use bearable (offline use is needed, this is a Pro feature), but I think it could be an infrequent heavy user (maybe a weekend this month, nothing next month, a couple of weeks the month after, kinda thing), and don't particularly want to lock into myself into a subscription that I could waste a lot of. I've got Dropbox and iCloud at my disposal, it seems silly not to use them to sync...

Does anyone know of anything that seems to suite my needs? I've looked at OmniFocus, but I'm not sure if it's just an app that nags you to get stuff done - Some things just don't have a timescale yet, and may never have a deadline.

I've probably missed stuff out as I'm not really familiar with this kind of application, and discussion about various points would be extremely useful.

Microsoft OneNote? I used to use Evermore, even getting the paid for account, but today I use OneNote. Its inking abilities are awesome on Windows and Android. OS C is relatively new and misses on some features, but is still good.

Hmmm, I presume it can be bought separately and without a subscription to 365 or whatever they are calling it?
Windows/Android really are of no concern to me, I use a bit of Windows at work to get access to Linux stuff, but I've always got my phone on me. I'll look into it :)

It is free on Mac and iOS. You do need a Microsoft account, but don't need 365.

I'm trying to find something similar, primarily to generate a technical information repository for my work. There's too much config / setup information to try and remember, especially when some of it only gets used once in a while, and I often cannot remember all the command line stuff I need for certain tasks. Need to check how searchable OneNote is mind, but will have a look at that.

If it is just for you, then OneNote is worth a look. But if you are looking for a solution for a department or the company as a whole, then you might be better off with a wiki or SharePoint.

you could also look at evernote if MS products dont appeal.
