What I hate is that you never look at these people the same way again, because you always know that lack of evidence doesn't actually mean it didn't happen, alongside all those people who weren't believed until decades later. And just as equally they could be innocent!

The truth is people only now come forward because the Saville case set an example. It's sh1t in every way, but those with a public profile are treated differently by everyone, not just the police. How many more victims were created when the police and other authorities previously ignored the likes of Saville and they didn't get exposed in the press? We have an extremely messed-up relationship with celebrity in this country. There is so little faith in large institutions that it actually requires the press to get involved.
