Get yourselves down to the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Pha Ngan for the Full Moon parties (take extra care!!!) and relaxed laid back attitude, Koh Tao to do a dive course, and if you really want, although I doubt it, Koh Samui for a typical package holiday affair. Of course out of the three options I can only recommend a dive course.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Been to Phuket already Matt. Hitting Koh Lanta in 10 days for a couple of weeks and the gf intends to dive there. I'll have to snorkel as a prescription mask is prohibitively expensive for now. I can't handle a full moon party!
