No love for Shawshank?
For shame!

And that's cool, I just find it has very few redeeming qualities. Mark

Mrs V has suggested You've got Mail and Expendibles 3. I am wondering if there are any p0rn films that could be put in this category

Personally, I'll say American Beauty.

Besides the near perfect camera, editing, lighting, cast, script and performances you mean?

I was going to suggest that. I think the only things that let it down are the overly-starey teenage neighbour and the comedy affair man his wife has a comedy affair with.

You're thinking of that other Kevin Spacey film, The Usual Suspects

It's waaaay too slow in places, and is no re-watchable IMO, much like The Sixth Sense in that regard (but much better than the Sixth Sense ofc)

I had no problems with it's pace, but I haven't seen it in ages so I don't know if I could watch it again (I suspect I could because I enjoyed the characters).

I haven't seen Mongol and I couldn't get into Perfume, but the others are all good. In fact, I was discussing Sink the Biskmack on Friday with a bunch of Germans during a boat tour of Hamburg harbour. That and Ice Cold in Alex, great film, but probably not in the near perfect category. How about The Hill with Sean Connery and Harry Andrews, I always loved his films as a kid.

I have the DVD and have re-watched it several times. Each time I find something new and it is great watching the story unfold and seeing the cops still not having a clue.
