Gone back to that Mark Kermode book - it's interesting enough to keep you reading, but it's almost 'a collection of articles to be read on the bog'. Appropriate given his surname lol.

Currently reading the Martian. from Andy Wier.
Excellent. Full of real technology and how one could try and survive on the planet. Full of great one liners.
"Your conversation is being shown live around the world."
"BOOBS!"
"Really? Really?"
Abandoned on Mars with nothing more than a few potatoes for Thanks Giving and a collection of Disco music and 80s TV.
"The General Lee is faster than any police car, why doesn't Roscoe just drive out to the Duke farm and arrest them, when they aren't in the General?"
"Oh my God, I'm going to f'ing die!"
Full of humour and a real page turner. I'm listening to the audio version. Really excellent.
Edit: "...which means 5 days more, why? Because Pythagoras is a dick!"
If you like irreverent science humour, then this book is for you. If you like a thriller, this book is for you. If you like real space science as opposed to pseudo science, this book is for you. If you like epic space battles, then go to hell!
I really recommend the audio version, it is really awesome!

Matt Damon? Seriously?
Hmm, I usually hate any film version of a book I've read... I hope they don't completely destroy the story, I really do.

I've ordered this elsewhere since I had a voucher I needed to use (got it for £4) http://www.amazon.co.uk/RoboCop-Definit ... ve+historyI wouldn't have bothered at it's RRP otherwise , same reason I'm waiting for this to reach a sensible price http://www.amazon.co.uk/Art-He-Man-Mast ... e+universeYou're talking around an extra tenner for the same amount of 'extra' pages as a comparable book. Cheapest I've seen it is £26 short of a dodgy company with a .co.uk address that doesn't tell you they're based in NZ, and that you'd likely be liable for customs charges.

Finished "Gone Girl" last night, it was a really well-planned and executed book. It didn't even remotely go the way I thought it was going and was one of those books where you finish it and then have to think about it for a bit afterwards before you can decide how you felt about it. One thing's for sure, I'm a much more stable person and wife than the Amy in the book
