Has the imagination disappeared from Lego?http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29992974 That really is awful But anyway, my complaint is that everything is now being done on the cheap (while the customer pays a lot more). You aren't even given the parts that would keep a structure from wobbling any more! It used to be you made an actual building, for instance, now you're making a frame with some detail round the back Car roofs and doors used to be hinged or such so that you didn't have to pull the vehicle apart to fit a figure in, and there's versions of large sets I had that don't have half the detail or features but cost a bloody fortune. It's all especially galling when you consider the awesome ideas in the range now.

That picture isn't Lego is it? Looks like a cheap "building block" rip off.

What range is it? I know they do some easy build 'for juniors' sets that are quite basic.

It's a 4 Juniors Tow Truck http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-4-Juniors-To ... B000WTO92OEDIT: I remember when Lego did a box of bricks. There was a booklet with different models and instructions on how to build them. But beyond that, your imagination was free to run wild. I bought a couple of Lego models for my little cousin. They are kits that allow you to build one or two models at most. There aren't enough bricks to make lots of things. It'll keep you (or the kid) quiet for an hour or so and then that's it. I used to have mega-hours of fun with lego and, later, meccano.

Emily plays with a mixture of City, Friends and Creator (my old set). She likes to build the models using the instructions but she also goes off and makes her own models too which is how I remember playing with Lego when I was young.

I just bought this tonight... Which I then turned into this... I didn't realise when I picked it up but it's one of the biggest in the architecture range. I'm really tempted to get the architecture studio set. 1210 white and clear pieces with a book about building concepts and design and you're free to create anything you want.
