I don’t know if anyone else watched this last night - I found the premise interesting, but the execution pretty sub-par.

Looks like the Grauniad wasn’t that impressed by it either.

Yeah, Four have form for these sort of shows - take real life 'characters' and create false controversey. Gary Glitter getting hung was a memorable one.

I have several issues with this:

- like it or not, UKIP is a main party in the political scene. Anytime they are mocked or discredited, it's the whole British political system that loses out, as people won't bother to vote.
- it may intice some people to vote UKIP

I have to say 1st of all I didn’t see it but following all the comments in the papers it looks like it was one sided

Given that we are >| |< close to an election it does seem a strange time to do it. If they didn’t want to be accused to political bias they should have made two – the one shown the other night and then a one with a more rosy picture

It was always gong to be one sided. Such things are. There are strict rules about what can be broadcast in the run up to a general election, but that’s within 60 days of the event, so at the moment, there’s no official requirement to either exercise balance or hold transmission.

If you want some UKIP giggles the UKIP Trumpton video is a hell of a lot better. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2015/02 ... 98858.html (warning: crappy Flash presentation of the video, but worth it)

Meh. I watched it. Wasn't great telly but then I wasn't expecting it to be.
However, I also didn't think the varrious threads and resulting consequences spreading out from them were wildly unrealistic either.
C4 apparently gave Farage the opportunity to see it before broadcast and also to appear for a rebutal after the program and he refused.
