I guess they made absolutely zero impact on anyone here then.
I've not even looked who won what but I heard Eddie Redmayne won something.
Yay. Go us Brits!

Is there an Oscar for picking your nose in a particularly disinterested way? My aunty has an Oscar for set design. I don't want to dismiss her achievement or any others but it is just an excuse for a party isn't it. http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/fe ... scars-2015

Nah, it would be too hard to narrow down the nominees from every man on the planet.

I can't forgive Redmayne for what he did in Jupiter Ascending. I don't care how good he was in Theory of Everything, you're only as good as your last job they say.

yeah, I heard this morning that they were last night. Haven't seen any news about who won what yet.
The Bambis are more important over here.

I was going to ask when they take place, but the little voice in my head is putting on a silly "Allo Allo" accent and repeatedly saying "Venison! Venison!"

The German equivalent of the BAFTA awards and they take place during the Berlinale, which is the German equivalent of the Cannes Film Festival.

Sorry, Dave, I was trying to be funny, and failing, as usual. When the voice in my head said "venison" in the silly accent I mentioned earlier, it sounded like "When is on" which is similar to "when is it on"... It's actually sounding even less funny than it was to start with, now I explained it, and that is quite the feat!

I've never given a crap about the Oscars somehow. It's partly cos films that win are all a bit worthy and usually a bit boring, and it's hard to get excited by just who won anyway!

I've said for years that the Hollywood of today is a rather.. soul-less shadow of the golden age and that sheer lazy consumerism has drained some of it's lustre. Then I saw these photos. Some of them are genuinely excellent. The one of JK Simmons is bordering on perfect.

It's weird seeing JK Simmons as anything other than his Oz character, having seen him so much in that.

Well that is obviously an exception to the rule which they must be bending now. I've now seen the highlights. Jared Leto hade a funny comment about Meryl Streep that was rather amusing and John Travolter was cringe worthy. He is going to great legnths to prove his ungayness. Apart from that it was all rather forgettable.
