So, just to be clear, you're talking about an animated film that came out in the last 2 years or so, and has dinosaurs and/or other prehistoric creatures?

Yes. I'm starting to think it actually was Ice Age 5. It would have been an animated child-friendly film with prehistoric creatures.

Ice Age 5 isn't due out until 2016 according to IMDB so unless you were raiding Blue Sky's servers very effetcively I suspect that may not be it. Ice Age 4 (Continental Drift) was 2012.

Other than the Croods and maybe the How to Train Your Dragon films I'm struggling to come up with anything that matches your description.

Finally, I've found a solution to my tough toe nails. 60 grit paper and a cork block.
