Something I have always thought about with time travel that never seems to be mentioned.
It would make time travel impractical even if it were possible.
Movement.
With the initial experiment carried out on BTTF. Einstein (the dog) travels 1 minute into the future. In the film the car vanishes and then rematerialises in the same place with the same momentum exactly one minute later.
But, in that time the earth's surface will have moved a couple of miles from where it started. So The car should really materialise a few miles away.
Travelling long time spans (like 6 months) would put you millions of miles away from the earth as the earth would be on the opposite side of the sun.
For even longer distances, say 2000 years into the past. The earth wouldn't even be in the same vicinity. The whole solar system would have disappeared and be off trillions of miles away back round the orbit of the Galaxy.
I know it isn't possible anyway but this would men it would be very hard to make it work anyway.

Shhsh! Don't ruin the dream!
You probably have a point. The other is, even if you stay where you are, will where you are still be there when you re-emerge? In the Time Machine, that actually happens, during the time that he looks out of the bubble, he sees that cities are built up around his machine, hills come and go... Stop at one of those points and you will be dead.

No doubt the time field created by the machine is caught in the gravitational field of the locality.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

If you can warp time then warping space should be trivial
