Clarkson tweeted that he hadn't heard a thing, after that story broke, and Evans said it's nonsense. Looks like that was a bs story by the telegraph - click bait or circulation booster - nobody cares if the papers print bullsh!t any more.

Official web statementReports are the other two won't do TG without JC but it maybe depends exactly on what the refresh ends up looking like and how much they get offered to be on it. If the bookies are to be believed, Chris Evans will get the main presenter job. If the bookies are to be believed, I therefore won't be watching it.

Evans has already said, on camera, today, he's not at all tempted by Top Gear.

Do you reckon it's worth me sending my CV in? Before you all start laughing, think about it for a moment... I could probably do his job. I'm middle aged, getting fat, and have a mouth which doesn't always make sense. I also have a dodgy hairstyle, and I wouldn't have a problem wearing denim to work. Edit to add: I also know [LIFTED] all about cars... bonus!

It would be a different show. That's not necessarily a bad thing of course. I have a feeling Martin might have more of an affinity with your classic cars than the latest Lamborghini UnPronounceableName, so it would be less 'petrolheady'. Martin strikes me as more 'the new Fred Dibnah' than 'The New Jeremy Clarkson'. Be a damn sight better than Johnny sodding Vaughan though. James May talking to Sky News"Apparently they've shot him."

Send your CV/pitch document to Kim Shillinglaw Controller, BBC2 New Television Centre London It'll probably get there.

I'll have to find a pitch document template, as I've never done one of those before. I assume it's like a covering letter...? Probably a waste of time, as I never got a reply to the email I sent them when they needed a new Doctor (Who). I'd probably have as much luck if I made a demo video of me reviewing a car, and trying not to punch anyone in the face or be racist, upload it to YouTube and sending a link
