So what do we think of Capaldi as the Doctor then?
I have had problems warming to him, though there have been some nice Tom Baker-ish touches in his delivery. Remember the jellybabies in The Mummy, and his tone of voice occasionally hints.
I think the biggest problem I had with this whole series was it was all about Clara. The Doctor seemed very much a supporting character at times. Perhaps, now that has been resolved, and once we're past the inevitable Christmas episode, we might begin to see Capaldi grow into the role.

Clara got right on my nerves along with the relationship with Mr Pink.
This is Dr Who not a soap opera.
Now she's gone perhaps we can get back to some real Sci-fi

Has she gone...? Has this been confirmed? If so, it's news to me. Remember what the character who's name I can't mention for fear of spoilers said at the end of the episode...

There's no definitive way to say she's gone or not, because if they feel like she should be there they will come up with a justification for her being there. They've already shown they're pretty much willing to give up consistency, logic and 'canon' if they feel like it.

Clara to stick around for another seasonThat's interesting, because throughout this whole season it's pretty much been playing out that they were setting it up for the character's departure. Still, a year without change will probably be a good thing, now that The Doctor and Clara have sort of gotten used to eachother. I'll be watching the Christmas Special from yesterday later today.
