Got a job offer for a job as technical advisor. That would mean leave the consulting/design side altogether. New job pays 30 to 40% more not including profit shares. Not sure what to do.

That's a hard offer to turn down....... Unless you think you'll have the new job, then it's easy to turn down.

Pity my wife has ruined my day already.

Swam again this morning; I don't wear goggles and usually my eyes sting for 10 minutes afterwards and then feel ok. Today though, they're still really sore even now. I'm guessing they'd just run additional chlorine through the water but has anyone experienced something similar before? And for future reference know a solution post swim?

Sure, goggles is the obvious choice, I just dont really want to have to bother with them, especially as I do a lot of 'heads up breaststroke'.

You may benefit from soothing eye drops but ultimately, if the pool has chlorine in it the only thing that'll protect your eyes are goggles as far as I know (I imagine if there was something better they'd have been using it in professional events already).

You're right, I'll invest in some eye drops and then as I swim more often probably some good goggles. At the moment I'd still rather go without and I swam as normal this morning with no post-swim eye sting. Still thinking they did something to the water Friday.

Try some other pools, as expensive health clubs often use less chemicals than the cheaper public pools, for good reason.

Just received an offer for a 12 month contract, starting at the beginning of May, which I have accepted. I also have an interview lined up tomorrow, which I suppose I should attend, just in case it looks like a better gig, but at the moment it's looking like I get a two week break, then back to work I go!

Yay me!

:D

Around 119,541 in the city and borough apparently. 1,042,000 for the whole county.

Looking for someone in particular?

Thanks! the commute is much better. About 5 miles from my house, and about half a mile away from the campus I was teaching at last year.

Also, Thanks Alun. The forum doesn't like too many quotes in one post, but thanks! :D
