Best - Bought a basket and bell for Evie's balance bike and she loves it. Hasn't left it alone all night.

Worst - Unfortunately I also bought some Hama beads for Emily. Oh my god they get everywhere!

Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the PS3 - seems so sluggish, not even sure it's worth £2!

Amazon Fire Stick.
Impressed so far - better than the browser based service.

Never used the browser, but the console apps work surprisingly well. I'm not that keen on the Fire Stick homepage layout initially, but I'm still tinkering ;) , enough to consider a decent keyboard remote...

Glad you like it. They are pretty good. Most of the Telcos here provide the DECT versions as their standard telephony/Internet router. It also supports remote configuration - the telcos configure it to pull down the settings for Internet and VOIP from their DHCP servers when they are installed. Saves having to send an engineer out - although I disabled the setting once it had its initial set-up.

We were switched to VOIP a couple of years ago and everything goes through the Fritz!Box. It has been 100% reliable.

There was a security flaw with their private cloud drive (attach a USB drive to the box and share it), where a hacker could take over the router. They patched it in double quick time about a year ago. If you don't use the MyFritz! service, then there isn't a risk, but I'd still check to see the firmware is up to date.

The fax to email is a neat extra and there is a smartphone app that allows you to use you device as a cordless telephone when logged into the local WiFi network.

If you buy the Fritz!Fon telephones, you can even manage the telephone book centrally and all changes are synced to all connected phones... But one step at a time. ;)

New Motorola G4 - 2015 Second Ed and a good (to me anyway) 4G contract with Vodafone

Transferred all of my data from my old phone and that went without a hitch

So far - and OK only used it "in the wild" this morning impressed - 4G is a LOT quicker :D

....and no random taps on the bottom of the screen (that my old phone was doing - hence the new one)

A cheap DS charger is good... a ticket to Avengers 2 was 'worthwhile'.

Brilliant. No fcuking about with Sony's almost proprietary cable* in my world of black USB cables, and it even charges my controller with all the grips etc on. Folds up into a steelbook case, has an LED indicator for charging/fully charged. Which is bloody handy considering the controller takes ages to even register when charging sometimes... I run it off a USB plug.

* Seriously, the versions of that cable I've had that worked and then didn't, never worked at all, weren't long enough to start with... Even they knew it was bollocks going by the more standard cable for the PS4 controller.
...

My subscription to Computer Active is worth every penny - great little program tips, extensions etc. Excellent reviews too.
