One for Bratty, the remains of a WW II Bren Gun Carrier. The Germans captured it towards the end of the war, but as the allies advanced, they didn't want to be caught with captured equipment, so they drove it off a cliff into the Silbersee lake over the flooded mines in Tutoberger Wald (Forest). Since the 80s the lake has drained away and the mines are now a tourist attraction. The Bren Gun Carrier remains are just outside the entrance to the "Stollen" (mine). The mine was active between 1920 and 1937 and was used to get calc stone for the refining of iron ore. In 1937 they found another part of the mountain, where they could just dig the stone out of the side of the mountain, without having to mine for it. Silbersee Mine in Hagen a.T.W. by David Wright, auf Flickr There little guys live in the puddles running through the mine. I only had my smartphone with me, so the pictures aren't the best, but still reasonably good.
