Visible crime of every description was rampant when I was there in the late 90s. On the trip towards Paris the first person we saw was breaking into a car!

Was at the Trocadero and the Tower a few weeks ago and both were surrounded by gangs selling tatt. At the Trocadero there was one copper on a bike giving totally ineffective pursuit.

There are gangs of people doing five card tricks and find the pea games along the South Bank. You can see look outs too. They are quite brazen.

I've used the line " touch me and you lose your teeth" a few times in Paris. I really hate it as a city, dirty and throughout unsafe

I was at the pub last night with people from work. As I set off on my bike I rode past a girl screaming "that's my phone!" And a woman trying to pull her phone from her. The woman started running away (in my direction). I jumped off my bike and stopped her. Lol!

Soon after lots of other people got involved and the noise got too much so I left it.

Hope she got her phone back anyway.
