Bloody local football match... D1ckheads chanting, no doubt a mini riot, and doing something as simple as going to the local garage becomes a nightmare

Rough mixes for Dick Venom & The Terrortones first full-length album.

Just spent the last three days "laying down tracks" and got 14 done including alternative versions of a few for possible single release.

This will be my main musical diet for the next few weeks until we're back in the studio to do the mixing proper.

Here's a panoramic view of the live room with our gear set up:

CD drive... Somebody has messed around with my music collection on the NAS... Missing titles, albums under the wrong artists etc.

As I don't want to wade through hundreds of folders to find out what is missing, I'm just re-ripping everything; at a higher bit rate this time...

I'm also putting it on OneDrive this time, as well as the NAS.

If you had a backup of the collection, you could just restore it.

The NAS was supposed to be the backup, but I ran out of space on my notebook, so deleted the music there to make room for my RAWs... As the music isn't that important, I didn't worry too much about it, plus I have all of the CDs, but my wife wants to listen to music and the whole thing is messed up...

What is really irritating is that many of the CDs are coming up with the wrong information from the online database. Yesterday it was a rock album with 2 CDs, both were labelled as CD 1 in the database. This morning it was a classical album, it was booked in as an inspirational talk CD, so I had to completely re-do the contents, another was half in Japanese...

So, I finished ripping yesterday. Around 500 CDs and over 5,000 songs. Half a dozen have been so scratched by the girls that they no longer play! Luckily I had lower quality rips of some those still on the NAS, they weren't among the "lost" CDs.

But in all at least 25% of the CDs were either incorrectly identified or were not recognised at all by the online look-up...

Are they beyond using the toothpaste trick to smooth them down?
