Mine is electric fan also. If you like pizza I really would be tempted to try a stone or iron pan. There was an iron pan on offer the other week but I can't remember where now! The stone option was still cheaper though IIRC.

I quite like pizza. To the point where I like Goodfellas' pizzas. Hell, sometimes I even make cheese on toast (or garlic bread slices) with a layer of pasta sauce under the cheese for that hit. I remember reading about iron pans when I did a bit of googling on pizza stones.

If you've got the option a conventional electric oven (or a fan one that lets you have the fan off) might give better results than a fan oven.

Not tried making pizza in my oven yet (gas), although I do have a pizza stone.

The French actor Pierre Brice died yesterday.

The actor made famous and known to generations as Winnetou died yesterdays

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Brice

He was so typecast as the Native American Winnetou from the Karl May stories (he played the Indian Chief in 11 film adaptations between 1962 and 1968), that he found it difficult to get other roles for a long time and he is best remembered as Winnetou - the tweets about his death were mainly about Winnetou and how it had shaped people's lives or the news of his death brought up memories of childhood.

He even played alongside Terrence Hill (best known for the film series with Bud Spencer).

Went to Harrods this weekend (we happened to be close by). Confusing layout but lots of nice things to look at. When you have dinky handbags that cost £700, it did crack me up to see fruit and veg being sold there too. Can't complained too much though. OH bought me a jacket for £450.

Harrods used to be excellent, but then they got rid of their rather good hifi section, and it's all gone down hill from there.

Didn't know there was a hi-fi section. It was more of a "sightseeing" trip than anything else - neither of us had been there before. There was one floor that was very much for travellers/sightseers esp from abroad with lots of London-related memorabilia rather than just Harrods related stuff. There was some random stuff in there too - sugar "cubes" in the shape of rabbits for example. We had a lovely ice-cream sundae (but it still wasn't a patch on Morrelli's that used to be in Selfridges) and it was nice to wonder round otherwise. Wouldn't go there again for anything in particular.

There used to be a proper one, last time I was there that section had been turned into an art gallery. They've still got TVs and "lifestyle" level hifi, but they used to have a serious section as well, with Kef Reference, Electrocompaniet, Steinway, Meridian and Pathos kit in it.
