If anyone is interested, the first attempt at a build was... quite successful. I'm going to build a second server, as I think that it can be improved on, but I don't want to risk borking the first. The advantage of the Pi being that I can just remove the Micro SD card, and that gives me a clean slate to start over.

More updates to follow, or maybe I'll start a thread...

How many players does it manage?

Not sure how many people she had online yesterday, but I shouldn't imagine it was more than 5 or so. I'll try and ask her later, but I'm busy helping Mrs V mark online exams at the moment.

I also found an 8GB Micro SD card, that I'd forgotten I had, yesterday, so I'll be building an image from scratch, to see if it can be improved upon. She#s also talking about running map mods, or some such [LIFTED], so I guess I'll have to do some reading up on this...

Long Sail prescription swimming goggles. They're not a perfect prescription match (they're off the shelf not custom made) but they make a huge difference when swimming. They were a revelation at my weekend at Center Parcs.

Ordered Wolfenstein: The Old Blood for PC this morning. Having seen some of the review videos, I'm quite looking forward to it.

Ordered an ear wax remover spray, but frankly, it's hard to know if it actually reached the problem since there was little sensation :?

Have you heard of ear candling? If you're having problems I suggest you try it. A good spa or beauty therapist will offer the service at around £25 for 45 minutes.
And no I hadn't heard about it before my hairdresser friend told me about it.

Quote:
Ear candling, also called ear coning or thermal-auricular therapy, is an alternative medicine practice claimed to improve general health and well-being by lighting one end of a hollow candle and placing the other end in the ear canal.

Ear candles aren't effective for ear wax. Will find the reference if you'd like. Stick to olive oil and warm it, flood the canal and stay on your side for 15 mins then 5 mins the other way to tip it out. Can safely be done up to four times a day but you need to keep at it for at least a week.

I thought that not only was ear candling bollocks but also potentially dangerous.

I've very recently read Bad Science so it's likely my insight came from that!

Poeple I know who have had it have said it's wonderful and I am now tempted to try it myself as I am having a lot of ear / sinus issues.

Nightstorm, Hive Wars, Lava Planet Predators

Image

Nightstorm I'm keeping boxed either until I can display it or sell it for good money, come decision time. Hive Wars I'll display.

I'm almost certain I'll sell Lava Planet there* - your quick opinion, like it or not?

*that pic actually makes it look better than it is IMO.
