The land speed record from 1927? Which is apparently 146mph. Not actually that 'extreme' in modern speed terms. I'm a Elba fan, at least as far as what he's done on UK TV & in films (haven't seen much of his US stuff) and I'm sure it's an absorbing show - which if I had Discovery I'd be very much interested in watching - but let's not over egg the pudding too much.

Depends what he's attempting that record in. I'm sure he could do it in any number of cars with the radio up and the AC going, but if it's something more interesting 147mph could be very exciting indeed.

Didn't they get up to about 100mph on The Gadget Show with a bicycle they'd strapped lots of RC plane jet engines to?

It was kinda all over the news when he did this so I'm surprised you never heard about it. I only read the headlines but I think it was some sort of Bently. Mark

http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/entertainment/articles/2015-05/11/idris-elba-bentley-pendine-sandsSo all in all, still pretty ballsy. Even if it was in the refined creature comforts of a Bentley. Nothing on Malcolm Campbell though.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' to Introduce... http://tinyurl.com/oha42s9That could be make or break. The fans might love it, but it seems the show will need more than just it's current fan base in the ratings. If it's massively tied into the movies (apparently the two divisions aren't as chummy as it might appear) it stands a better chance of course. ... Daredevil season 2's potential story arc (potential story spoilers) They'd need to handle those characters very well because there's a lot of dramatic firepower there, but there's no reason to believe they couldn't after season one. Hopefully one of those characters will mean the requirement of a Daredevil suit that doesn't look like crap cosplay.

Neil Gaiman to write some episodes of the American Gods TV adaptationI guess that's as good as it gets in terms of actually wondering if the creator of the source material is actually behind the creation of the adaptation. Mark
