Netflix is about to be bigger than ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, which is all the major broadcasters in that country.

Though the article states the research doesn't take into account online video views, and I know Netflix is viewed online that way, so while the major US broadcasters say that is a growing trend for them, I guess there's also hidden numbers there for Netflix, too.

It's the way forward. I think it will revolutionise TV and in a few years it will all be web driven and not broadcast as we know it today.

It is just starting over here (still in its first year, I think, maybe 6 months?), but it has stiff competition from the established on demand streaming services, like Maxdome.

I haven't met anyone yet who uses it.

Aside from your posts, Dave, I've never heard of this service.

It'll ruin the water cooler thing on Monday mornings. And make spoilers even harder to avoid. Everybody with no job will just watch Daredevil season 2 in like a day and you won't be able to go near the internet.

But I'm watching less TV these days anyway. After almost 20 years of religious watching, it's time to start doing more productive things...

They started out as a movie on demand streaming service about 10 years ago or so.

They are the market leader in Germany, but I think they are pretty much only in Germany and Austria (or via a German VPN, anywhere else). It is part of the ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group.

Maybe I'm lucky but in our office nobody discusses spoilers. The only shows that get discussed are the reality BS cos everyone knows they're total fluff.

I watch quite a few series after the event and avoid spoilers. It can be done.

1) What's the secret?
2) Do you ever miss discussing eps with people shortly after you've both watched? (I love this with GoT as an example).

If I see something mentioning the show I don't read it.

Rarely speak to people about shows so no, don't miss it.

P.S. The last GOT was rubbish. My fave series so far was the first one and the others have not matched it for me.

I enjoyed the fact that it tied upa lot of things and I loved the line, "You want a good girl, but you need a bad pussy."

But I agree that it's never quite been the same as many things have gotten out of control and the pace seems to have slowed.

And it's these exact conversations that I enjoy having with people, face to face, right after an episode has aired.

Guess I'm in the minority...

Possibly because they were rapidly catching up to the point the books had been written up to...

By the way, the last ten minutes of 'HardHome' says you're all very, very wrong. Give me that ten minutes over an entire sodding series of Denerys slogging her way round a desert to no great effect any day of the week.
