Just bought another collection of Cotton Reloaded (18 - 20). Short stories about an FBI agent working for a secret unit in New York.

It is based on a series of dime novels from the 50s on. The first one was released in 1954 and is still running today. The series has sold over 850 million copies.

Cotton Reloaded is a remodelling of the characters and is very entertaining, if a little formulaic. As far as I know, it has only ever been published in German and there have been several films of the original Cotton G Man series.

"How Children Fail" by John Holt

It normally takes me a while to read books but I've come home early from work to get back to this. Easily one of the best books I've ever read.

The Child Pope by Peter Prange.

Very interesting take on the history of a very controversial pope.

I'm not Catholic, but it was still a very interesting read.

Had to read it at school. Of the books we had to read at school this was the only one I actually liked. Read it when I was older, made more sense.

I'm not very impressed with The Girl Who Wouldn't Die and I'm sure there was a glaring error giving something away when a character was called by another name.

This morning I ordered Hitch-22 from Amazon in actual paper format!

Carolyn, I hope you're sitting down …
I'm about to download The Man in the High Castle from iBooks so I can re-read it sometime soon as reading about the Amazon adaptation of it has put me in mind of re-acquainting myself with it.

I watched the pilot on Amazon Prime at the end of last year, interesting, but a little confusing. I might give the books a look-see.
