Yeah, it's not the best, but then the Beeb also does overly dramatic ones now.

I know you can use malt extract in brewing but I would have thought that yeast extract like vegemite (or Marmite for that matter) was too denatured to be of much use in fermentation, not to mention the high salt content. It's not like its live yeast anymore as I understand it.
