How often are they finding old bombs in the UK now? You would have thought that by now they would be cleared away... Especially in a built up area.

That said, we get a couple a month over here on average. My wife was driving back from Dresden in July and had to take a diversion around Hanover, because they found an old bomb on a building site near the motorway. The whole of north Germany was pretty much brought to a standstill as that is the main route east/west in Germany and Hanover is one of two major points for north/south travel as well.

When you consider that there are areas of northern France that a literal no-go areas due to the incredible quantity of unexploded ordinance and chemical weapons, it's hardly surprising if the odd bomb still pops up in London.

I think I hear about it once a year or so. They're often dredged up from river beds of the like.

East London is full of foreign English people. He's unlikely to go there.

That's true. I'm a Londoner and even I don't go there often.

Well apart from every day the moment as they've closed my bit of the Victoria Line.

finding unexploded devices was very common where I lived as a child ( in the centre of the Somme Battlefields)

they say there's about 250k unexploded ammo there, I wouldnt be surprised if there's several thousands still in London.
