Currently reading Anti-Ugly by Gavin Stamp

It's snooty and public school, yet utterly delightful

Whilst waiting for Hitch-22 I bought The Shock of the Fall on Kindle cheaply (£1.99). So far it has proven to be a very worthy purchase.

I'm about to download The Man in the High Castle from iBooks so I can re-read it sometime soon as reading about the Amazon adaptation of it has put me in mind of re-acquainting myself with it.

Paid for and downloaded just a short while ago. The weather forecast for next week is rain, so I'll get it started then. (8+D

Started David Baldacci's Zero Day as an audio book yesterday morning, now 10 and a half hours into it - it was a long drive from Germany to the England!

Very good so far.

Cleanskin by Val McDermid. It's one of those quick read books so it'll be done by tonight. Obviously it needs to be snappy, but it's loaded with cliches and outright bollocks as a result. It's more than readable but only because of the format.

I'm reading a load of mags - GamesMaster, Computer Active (multiple!), and SciFi Now.

Apart from CA, I doubt I'll ever buy anything like them again; they're mostly crap now. And ffs, the cheap-ass ink and paper just feels icky!

I'm also still reading that book of interviews with people who have played superheroes - there's some brilliant anecdotal stuff, but the interviewer is just asking the same questions of everyone it turns out.

I thought it was a straight-up novel too.

After lots of historic books and thrillers I'm currently reading vomit books.

If you listen to the radio 2 book club you'll know what a vomit book is

Needless to say I've no intention and I got it cheap ;) , but I'm curious about the process. I've only started it and it's really simplistic as the title suggests.

I've just read this

Aliens Volume 4: Genocide (Aliens (Dark Horse)): Amazon.co.uk: John Arcudi, Mike Richardson, Damon Willis, Karl Stor: 9781569711965: Books
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aliens-Volume-G ... 1569711968

It's mostly good, but sometimes the detail gets lost in both the art and exposition in general. That said, the fight scenes between the species are great.

Now reading The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer about mental illness. Very good reviews but so far it feels like it's been written by a child.

Just finishing Daniel Suarez "Control", interesting hypothesis, but not quite up to the standard of Daemon and Darknet.
