Government's trade union proposals not fit for purpose, watchdog says | Politics | The Guardian

Quote:
The regulatory policy committee (RPC), which the government appointed in July to scrutinise progress towards cutting £10bn of red tape this parliament, criticised the initial costings of proposed changes to the law, designed to make it harder for workers to strike.

The RPC said the government had been too hasty in pushing through its proposals, which were first set out in the Conservative party manifesto ahead of the general election, and called on it to undertake further consultations.

Continuing the long history of governments not listening to the very people they only brought in for faux credibility. You know it's bad when a hastily constructed committee won't even put their name to something.

Anyone who finds a boxset of Yes Minister in the decades to come is gonna think they're watching secret recordings...

Why do they waste money on this sorry of thing?
You know, I know, they know, everybody knows, that's they're going to do what they want, so just get on with it.
Wasn't Terminal 5 half built before the enquiry finish regarding whether it should be build or not?
