I have to admire the tenacity of the snail that was on the car bonnet this morning.
Didn't notice it until the car was on the move but there was snail meandering its way across the bonnet. It continued to do this for the entire 25 minute journey to work, including a considerable amount of time at 70 mph. Didn't even retreat into its shell, just pulled in its eye stalks a little. By the time we were at work the old snail had made it from one windscreen washer to the opposite door.
I had genuinely expected the buffeting at 70 mph to dislodge the snail but it seems, at least in this case, the mucus won out.

The nice man a check-in moved to to the emergency exit row so I get more legroom on the flight home.

I'm not sure if that was because....
A) He was just nice.
B) He took pity on me as I was extra early (5 hours) because I didn't know the flight time had been changed by an hour.
C) His computer told him if just joined their reward scheme.

I'm happy which ever it was.

Can't remember if I mentioned it here or not, but I popped into the local Vodafone shop recently, and transferred to a SIM only plan.

Don't see the point in getting a new mobile, when there's nothing out there that, in my opinion, is better than the one I have, and I am saving £19 a month in the process.

I've also got unlimited 4G data for 6 months, after which it comes down to 4GB a month - still 4 times more than I was getting, and also NowTV, (or was it Netflix, I can't remember which I picked) free for 6 months.

Yaaaaay!

Yeah, I read that story. Really impressive all round. Somebody had a brainwave at some point and well done to them. Of course there are just plain bad people in every society, but if there are people who are in jail partly because they feel excluded and/or alienated and therefore they don't have to give a damn about anyone else, putting them in a position where they're obviously doing or making 'a good thing' and can see they are appreciated for it has to do some good, doesn't it?

The trick of course is spotting the people in jail for whom this kind of ... rehabilitation, I suppose you'd call it, will actually work.
