This all went down so well that two people are now off on the sick. And more are likely - she's still at it, even now.

What sort of place do you work in? It sounds like you mine anguish from deep caverns of despair in the rectums of deceased dreams. Nobody I work with really annoys me that much. But apparently I shouldn't say stuff like that so often.

I have the weekly 8.30am meeting tomorrow for something that could be handled in an email.

Oh, that's a staple. IME managers hate meetings but feel they have to call them lest they lose any power or respect that they never really had in the first place.

0930, immediate boss asks me to deliver a photography unit to a group of level 3 learners. Now, to be honest, I'm skint. I need more income. So I say yes, dust off the powerpoint, re-read the unit brief and get ready to turn the handle on it once more. 1330 rolls around, the students are all pleased to finally have someone who's confirmed to be teaching them until Christmas. They've had 3 lecturers in as many weeks for this slot. So, bound into the class, get them excited about photography, get them thinking, discussing, finding out what it means and what a big thing it is, everything it covers. Yay! Check my email just before resuming the session after the break. "We've had a rethink/conversation about what you can do in your Weds pm session. Film techniques/production/workshop might be best although XXXXXXXX and ZZZZZZZZ are delivering the units. You could support this by confirming ideas and getting them to complete their pre-production paperwork. You could also do a film camera workshop. Photography will be dealt with by ZZZZZZZZ after Christmas. You could do the darkroom element of this however, ZZZZZZZ is fine with that and you have great skills with that. Could you concentrate on the Unit 2 Communication skills unit up until Christmas. I have already launched this but they are having trouble gathereing research. To recap- you are doing/supporting the Comms until but also supporting with filming/editing."

i was sacked last week the reason for the sack was i purchased a pack of cigars in work time. i was going to appeal but to tell the truth i dont what to go back they have been hammering all the old full time contract staff for some time and i just cant put up with their crap any more. i had less rules and regulations in the army. i have just got a loan and am in the process of buying a small van and going back to being a self employed courier ...

That's... Special. They sound like a right bunch. We work flexi time and I walk home from work taking 40 minutes (8am - 4pm working hours). Today we received an email stating they're reserving the right to have people work 9 to 5 (since they've put two people off on stress this week alone). Never mind that flexi time is the reason they have any staff and that they do what they want. People have kids, get lifts, appointments... But hey, fcuk all that

You were sacked for simply making a purchase during working hours and you're not challenging it because you don't want to go back?!
I don't believe you have divulged all the facts. You might not wish to go back, but that would be ripe for an unfair dismissal claim, assuming that is the whole story.

believe me i have the paper work to prove it. the store manager who issued the dismissal has also left the company. she now works for the co-op. to go for unfair dismissal i have to appeal, i believe that at that appeal i would be reinstated (taking advice from the union) but they would just keep gunning not just at me but all full time contracts. and i have at this time not missed the place one bit. time to move on and do something different. i did self employed courier work on M/C's for 10 years in central London now i will use a small van instead of a bike. being employed now days has too many down sides and to tell the truth im sick to death of retail ...

I believe, at an appeal hearing, you can voice concerns over your treatment if reinstated, which can lead to compensation instead. If you've been unfairly dismissed, make 'em pay.

True story
User: My phone isn't working Me" Haver you logged a ticket? User: How do I do that if my phone isn't working?
I ignored her but thought 'the 700 phones around you are not working either?'
