No loss there

Oi! What's wrong with Manchester?! I've lives here for 15 years, and I can tell you from experience that it's a hell of a lot friendlier than London.

Bah, now having tried a car with one (Vauxhall Insignia) who on Earth thought a button for the hand brake/parking break was a good idea?

Yep - they're unutterably dreadful.

The very worst I've seen is the one on my boss's Audi A6 S-Line - it comes on automatically if you go too slow so it's pretty much impossible to park properly.

Add in the apocalyptic ride, the awful build quality and that sh!tty auto stop-start and you've got a car I wouldn't accept as a gift.

Dell's website - doesn't matter what browser you open it in, half of it won't appear or be totally ballsed-up. And try finding the changeable spec lists without a voodoo priest...

User: My phone isn't working
Me: what's showing on screen?
User: a symbol (useful)
Blah blah blah
Me: Can I have your desk number?

Response: she gives me her PC name.

It's going to be that kind of day

I asked Siri on my Watch today to remind me to go to Code Club. This screen shot of the Watch’s NSFW feedback on that request is linked to here:

I have decided '[LIFTED] club' is our new nickname for the corridor all the executive's offices are on. Previously known as 'the ivory corridor' but this fits better.

We've got the Brown Corridor where I work as it's mainly unpainted brick... and happens to be where the HR department lives.

Back in August, I was approached by another department about making a short film to support an entry for some award they're after.
I followed up the email promptly, suggesting a meeting to discuss requirements etc.
No response, so I get busy with other things.
Today, I finally got that meeting.
The film is due to be in front of marketing on Wednesday for a Thursday delivery.
I suspect Monday and Tuesday will be busy, I mean it's not like I have another job to be doing.
Seriously, I have no idea what's gone wrong with the management in the last 3 months.

My god Microsoft are getting pushy with Windows 10. Windows Update has now defaulted to auto selecting the Win 10 update, even though it comes up as an Optional update, every time it opens.
I'll upgrade when I'm good and ready thank you very much! I've got at least 8 - 9 months to do it without paying for the bloody thing so stop trying to force it down my throat. Grrr.

A recent insiders build has very specific adverts for store offerings appearing in the Start menu for select users. Computer Active basically said 'Get used to it, this is the real cost of a free OS.' Which is patently bollocks. Windows 10 is becoming the OS equivlent of a facehugger.

If you've got updates on it might have already downloaded itself to your HDD, waiting to be activated. And people thought a U2 album was annoying...
