A well thought out post. I can see where you're coming from.
Personally though, whilst the cinema can well be an occasion, what about just a plain old chance to get out of the house? Is everybody in this country so affixed to the idea that everything is better at home and any needs beyond that can be ordered from a phone or tablet? Coz that's how it seems. Which is a shame...
And nobody going to see Bond or Star Wars?

May go and see Bond, not decided yet. I suspect given the trailer the new Star Wars film is definitely 'best seen on a big screen' material.

Den Of Geek British cinema behaviour survey 2015 | Den of Geek http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/cinema- ... urvey-2015The worst thing I ever experienced was some d1ckhead who basically paid into the film to ignore it and heavy pet his girlfriend, before insulting audience members who he thought couldn't hear him. If there hadn't been kids around I think he'd have had more of a rumble in the dark than a fumble. I'd have certainly put the boot in. The best thing was some kid who, noticing I didn't have any popcorn, graciously offered me some of his. Honestly, if you try to help a stranger these days they're immediately suspicious, so that was good. An audience disrupting the film doesn't go down too well in Belfast, so it's a rare occurrence IME. Plus there's usually a good mix of age groups anyway.

You may want to read this before booking IMAX tickets for Star Wars Ep.VII. Mark

It would be interesting to know which UK cinemas will be showing it on real IMAX then. I have IMAX tickets but only because they were stupidly cheap otherwise I'd have been happy with 2D widescreen.

All listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IMAX_venuesBoth 15/70 mm 3D and digital projectors, apparently. It's the BFI one isn't it?

Read more: http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/2015-br ... z3wgvVmgwRProblem is there's no one to complain to without leaving the screening, usually. It's a bit of a walk too at my local when the screening hasn't started/crashed... Make sure you read the links at the bottom, some good ideas from the cinemas around etiquette and tales of win and woe.
