I won’t be able to afford it, and my local camera shop will bitch about it being an expensive Panasonic anyway. :?

What puts me off those is quite a random issue - apparently it always displays at least the title of a book, if not the page numbers too, in quite a large way. You could be turning pages for quite some time depending on the book and font.

Busy installing my brother-in-law's new notebook, a Lenovo 15.6" reversible ultrabook. Actually very nice, once you get the crapware off of it.

Had to bring it back to my place, as his internet is too slow - about 2mbps. After 2 hours trying to install Office, I gave up (40% complete), plugged it into my network and it finished within 5 minutes.

The same with Windows 10, it was downloaded and installed in under an hour.

It is very quiet as well.

For a "cheap" notebook, it isn't bad, and finding a half decent notebook in the 15.6" - 17" is getting more and more difficult, you either get the really cheap dross for under 400 Euros or you have high end business and gaming notebooks for over 1200 Euros. A sensible, reasonably specified notebook in the middle price category (decent built quality, good components and well designed) is hard.

Asus apparently do good stuff in that regard.

That's right, a £60 lock plus delivery that someday won't be charged. Never mind that keyring you already carry about with you, get one of these!

I'm trying to think of a situation where you'd want to unlock a padlock without touching it. I can think of a couple, but in those you'd hardly be able to use a smartphone at the time either.

There’s nothing on that that my current 2nd generation Apple TV has that will make me want to switch. I’ll revise that opinion when iPlayer is on it. It seems very odd to power up the PlayStation to use iPlayer - it’s that, or stream it from the iPad to the Apple TV, which frankly is stupid.

Dunno how 'out of the box' your second gen is, but the new one (which I have) has one massive advantage even at launch - DNLA playback, via a free app.

The PS4 iPllayer is actually about the best player 'appliance' setup I've seen. Everything else I've tried has been slower and buggier.
