'Know what the real issue is here? A film director who couldn't buy the publicity we're giving him!'

It's going to take federal legislation before America teaches it's officers not to freak out and kill people. And that's likely decades away as you'd probably need to sort out the guns issue first.
Quentin Tarantino 'not worried' about police threat.

I think I might be able to help out countries with drought problems - I simply plan to go shopping and the sky opens up. Every time.

‘Hateful Eight’ Premiere: No Police Protests Against Quentin Tarantino | Variety

Quote:
As screening time approached at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, though, the only cops in sight were four uniformed (but off duty) LAPD officers providing security. A couple of them evinced no interest in the complaints about Tarantino. After six weeks of jousting via media, a showdown between Tarantino and police appeared to have fizzled, at least for now.

I'm assuming 'uniformed' in terms of private security, and not LAPD uniforms. But it's still ironic lol.

Not only has my sister broken a Predator figure that I'll spend £30 replacing, mother dearest has just reminded me that the housing association has waited until Xmas to inspect their stock... I just feel like I'm surrounded by the stupidity equivalent of Wi-Fi :x

Trying to send Zavvi a photo of the wrong item they sent me, and that part of their site doesn't work in 'Fox. So I open up IE, and the site does work... except for the photo bit.

I swear to fcuk I'd be better just crawling under the duvet until new year cos this month has been disastrous - literally from day one. Faceplanting (with all the subsequent appointments), endless returns of online orders, work handing me a pile of absolute sh1te just before Xmas... I don't give a sh1t about 'new year' but I'll be glad to see December fcuking die at this rate.

NO SPOILERS AHEAD, PROMISE... Every website that I go to has deliberately and consistently avoided TFA spoilers, then one of them leads with, 'Find out why Kylo Ren...' Complete with photo. Fcuking twats! :x

1. I'm the only doc in surgery today and am seeing all sorts of people who need xyz at the last minute. Either it's medication that they could have pre-empted and asked for in advance, or it's people who have coughs and colds who want to get better within 24 hours.

2. This More than £2.5m of public money spent on expensive gadgets for NHS chiefs

50% of the population are stupider than average...

This story is, frankly, utter cobblers. Every large business on earth spends money each year renewing a chunk of it's IT, be it back end big iron or individual user equipment. So they're spending money they always be spending. There is a degree of 'people at the top of the tree get the nicest toys' but that's equally true of pretty much every organisation in the western world, be it private or public. That's just the way of things. So basically, what we're saying here is that's somehow a scandal that the NHS follows well established and utterly normal business practices. The overall NHS budget is 95 BILLION pounds. Probably 5% of that goes on IT equipment every year. So the NHS spent 0.05% of it's IT budget, not it's whole budget, it's IT budget, on some kit for it's executive staff.

Business gives chief executive mobile phone for work use! Questions in parliament!

Basically this story is 'NHS operates in exactly the same way as the vast majority of other organisations, large and small, throughout the developed world'. Including the Daily Telegraph, I'll be willing to bet. Obviously this is something that deserves space in a national newspaper.

**** The Daily Telegraph.

Cameron's Christmas message hails 'Christian' Britain and praises armed forces | Politics | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/201 ... med-forces

Quote:
In an address with some uncanny echoes of the Conservative party’s key general election message, the prime minister said: “If there is one thing people want at Christmas, it’s the security of having their family around them and a home that is safe.”

What sort of a cnut uses Christmas to do terrorism's job for it? :x

Quote:
But he had special praise for members of the armed forces protecting Britain.

“It is because they face danger that we have peace. And that is what we mark today as we celebrate the birth of God’s only son, Jesus Christ – the Prince of Peace,” said Cameron, mindful, no doubt, that national security is an issue on which he is perceived to have a big advantage over the Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn.

Holy Christ indeed... 'find me a biblical phrase that fits the scary terrorists theme!'
