We're now up to date with both Supergirl and Agents of Shield and they are both looking good.

They're both great. You should try Arrow and Flash, Arrow is on Prime if you have that. Oh, and Agent Carter ties into SHIELD. It's brilliant.

I did watch the first couple of series of Arrow, and am planning a catch up evening / weekend, and I am also planning on a binge fest for The Flash and Agent Carter. It's just a case of finding the time.

Tell me about it! I struggle just to keep up with the superhero ones.

Channel 5 secures rights to broadcast new 'X-Files' series in the UK
There's a massive ad that covers that page, so here's the text :
Quote:
Channel 5 have secured the rights to broadcast the new series of the ‘X-Files’ in the UK, after an intense bidding war. The highly anticipated series see the return of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, after 13 years away from our screens.

“Securing the UK premiere of the hugely anticipated return of 'The X-Files' is a major coup for the channel and will create one of the television events of 2016,” said Ben Frow, director of programmes at Channel 5.

“This acquisition underlines our ambition to deliver a diverse slate of brilliant, must-see programming on Channel 5.” The six-part series is expected to come to the UK in early 2016. The deal will also include ‘The X-Files Essential Collection,’ 20 episodes selected by the show’s creator Chris Carter, which promises to “take viewers through the gripping story of the original series”.

The original ‘X-Files’ series was first broadcast in 1993 and ran for nine seasons before being cancelled in 2002. The franchise also spawned the 2008 film, The X-Files: I Want to Believe. But since the show's demise fans have been campaign for its return, with rumours of a new series first gaining steam in 2013.

The series was officially announced as returning back in March, with creator Chris Carter commenting, “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

Leftovers anyone? I'm up to episode 4 now.

Confusing me too much to know what I think of it.

If the book's anything to go by, I wouldn't bother. It's one of these character studies with no plot. It's the new Lost, basically.

Well I like a few of the actors in it and it's only a short series so I'll plod on with it

I'll be sleeping as it launches, but I might be awake for the arrival.
Cheers man.

He's already implied he intends to leave things to the viewers' minds AKA why should I bother finishing the story when people keep falling for this sh1t. The book has no real ending either. I personally wouldn't bother.

Flash - It's always been great at character, it's just that at the moment it's got too many of them. Last week's events have all but been forgotten like they never happened. It's not a bad episode, just a middling exposition one.

Arrow - As above.

SHIELD - Again, more characters than it needs at the moment. It all just feels 'blah blah blah' there's so many people talking. And they're supposed to be dealing with some serious issues, it's just nothing's given time to breathe so doesn't have as much impact as it should.

They should expand that idea globally. There are so many countries now that give tax breaks for local filming, you've got a guaranteed audience at the start, plus you can then try it out in other countries.

While I read the books in my teens, I wished they'd cut out the most gory scenes out of the TV show, it definitely deserves it's 18 rating. From what I remember though, the following seasons should be more watchable
