Jesus statue’s promotion to army general vetoed by Guatemalan president | World news | The Guardian

You're just not good enough, Jesus...

Love how it's all a bit 'I will not accede to this madness unless the church says it's alright.'

Bought a portable DAB radio for my mum. She had problems setting it up so she asked my sister. She couldn't work it out either so I had a look. Following the instructions didn't seem to make sense so I checked the box.

The box and the manual feature the latest version of the radio, whereas the actual radio is the earlier model with a "new" sticker on it.

Took it back to Argos for an exchange but they don't have any more in stock so refunded.

I think I may have made a terrible error. Gave my Dad my old mobile (Samsung ATIV S, Windows Phone 8.1 at the moment).

Dad being Dad he won't just go and have a play with it to see how things work, he wants it's explained to him. Also, didn't believe me that it could go on the internet and stuff until I showed him.
This morning he was checking to see if the SIM card from his old phone (a 5+ year old Sony Ericsson job) would fit in the ATIV despite me telling him it was a different size and he'd need a new micro SIM.

I think we're in for a long journey of technological discovery.

I'm not sure that's ever happened.

All I did was search 'Lego Technic' on Smyths' website, I'm not Doctor Moreau FFS.

If You are into craft beer, this is pretty sad news
The following brands were bought out by InBev or Sab, which are also trying to merge:
Goose Island. Camden Town Brewery. Meantime. Elysian. Lagunitas. Ballast Point. Nøgne Ø. Golden Road.

Unfortunately the X404 profanity filter is breaking the link. Article can be gotten to Here.
It's the one entitled "NAILING OUR COLOURS TO THE MOTHER FCUKING MAST" but with the proper swear word in.

No worries, I like beer :D
Brewdogs '404' page is quite good so worth clicking on the broken link anyway.

Oh, my. Apple's Dictionary definition of "nonce" as reported by Danny Baker on Twitter.

Though, looking at the UI, that's an older system. I haven't checked this in El Cap..

Cobblers. It's the Oxford English Dictionary definition of the word, all Apple is doing too accessing that in the background. It's no more 'Apple's dictionary' than going to Google.co.uk in Safari takes you to 'Apple's search engine'.

The dictionary app GUI seems to have been updated in El Cap but the definitions remain the same since they're nothing to do with Apple.

if you think there's something wrong with it complain to the OED.
