Be offered.... yes. I'd have probably taken it if it was offered when we were having our first child.

When kids are behaving like a few are at my wife’s school, and she has to deal with it and the parents clearly won’t or can’t do anything other than utter the pathetic “oh, I can’t do anything with him” homily, then I do feel that some kind of intervention is needed.

Should there be advise available, absolutely. I do have reservations about it being in any way mandatory, especially in a blanket fashion. Strongly encouraged / incentivised in some circumstances possibly.

My other reservation is that it will no doubt require there to be one approved method, which will frankly be a disaster, as I don't for a moment think there's ever a one size fits all approach (and I suspect any parent of more than one child already knows this).

Those who need the help will absolutely deny that they do. If you make it voluntary, nothing will change.
