When I had my fall the solicitor said the road service would argue the debris that caused it could have been there for only five minutes, so I took phone photos over weeks that proved they don't bother their hole clearing the footpath... I had transferred most of the pics to my laptop as backup, but not the last few days worth. Couldn't find the sensible fcuking USB cable to transfer the photos rather than take my phone apart to get at the card... and it inevitably FAILed tonight.

Told card wasn't present, and I'd been through that rigmarole before  , so I dismounted the card and didn't even use the phone's power button, just let the battery fall out after removing the backplate.

Not at all hopeful, I put the card in an adaptor and stuck it in my laptop. Sure enough, Windows said it was corrupted, literally, and did I wanna repair it? Now, when has that ever worked... except this time it did.

Got the photos copied to the laptop - this is possibly the only time I've ever had Windows actually complete a task it had offered

How about letting people wear the uniform they want without getting gender involved? This really annoys me

If people wear what they want it's.. not a uniform? If you accept they need a uniform (I don't, but anyway) and you want to to be able to be worn with equal utility and comfort by all possible genre declarations, you're pretty much talking about a onesie/jumpsuit type thing. Which is a compromise that will probably please nobody.

I meant skirt uniform or trouser uniform. Loads of girls would much prefer trouser to skirt.

When I was at school, the girls uniform was either a knee length royal blue skirt or royal blue trousers. But the boys didn't get a choice, they could only wear charcoal grey trousers.

This represents a bit of mucking around with LiveCode over the weekend. LiveCode is a development platform that really simplifies the process of writing apps. There are a few bottlenecks in the performance, but I have achieved a lot more with it that I would have if I tried doing this in X Code.

It takes an MPO file form my stereo camera (MPOs are files that hold two or more image files), extracts the left and right images and puts them in the left and right image containers. You can also change the background image, as well as the shape of the image containers (here they are square, but you can also use an arch shape - more traditional for stereo cards) . The distance between the images can be adjusted by dragging the left one (the right will move to mirror it - I’ll get this working if you drag the right image eventually). Finally, it dumps out a full sized print sized image.

Lots more to do. I really didn’t expect to get this far with this so quickly. I’m going to have to stop and think about how I package up the assets used as this needs to be thought about now rather than later. The only thing about LiveCode is the licensing if you want to see a closed source version of your application. An annual fee of around $499.

M$ are really throwing stuff at people who buy the Lumia 950/950XL.
I've got a free display dock on order and now they are also giving away a free years worth of Office 365 Personal (so now I don't need to pay for Office 365 again until 2018 :D ).
That's about £120 worth of stuff in total so far. I wonder how much more free stuff they'll give away in their desperation to get people to buy Windows 10 phones.

It was a better deal.

TBH, my recently ended 5 year term was a pretty crap - five years ago, the property market was under a lot of scrutiny and you needed a 25% deposit to have any chance of a decent fixed rate, but I had little choice in the timing of it. The lender asked me what my primary goal was and I said to reduce the term, thinking I could shave two or three years off, but they told me my property value has shot up over £40k in that time, which gave me a better loan to value and, subsequently, a lower mortgage rate.
