A couple of early concepts for the Daredevil suit, for those that don't like the final TV version, it could've been a lot ... different. Mark

They've already tinkered with the final TV version for season two, it doesn't look quite as home-made now but I'd still like to see it in action. They really need to tone down the multi-layered, multi-material bollocks. It's logical, but it looks naff onscreen.

Getting a bit annoyed with Arrow and Flash. The main plot lines have been dragged out for months, relying on mini cliffhangers and little inserts to remind you they even exist now that there's so much filler. Characters are continually appearing and disappearing. It all suggests Berlanti is utterly distracted, and that would be no wonder... The last few episodes of Supergirl have been the weakest yet in some respects, with some serious ham to go with a show that's naturally cheesy. When you've taken a major Superman villain, given them a brilliant re-do for your own purposes, and still fluffed it with dialogue from a '60s comic? And dialogue and ideas that didn't even hold across the episode! Suggests a real lack of focus due to rushing.
It's a real shame, because at their worst these have been some of the best action shows on TV, and even the fight scenes are ropey now. Supergirl's are especially dire when you consider how great they've been for consecutive months. Arrow has some amazing individual shots, but the fights now look floodlit, cheap, and possibly filmed long after the initial start date lol. They really stick out that much.
I'm starting to wonder if Legends of Tomorrow has basically been the proverbial straw... The logistics for that show are simply immense, to the extent they haven't been able to stop themselves from having an Avengers-style, multi-character fight scene every week. And we're talking Avengers scale, too. I think it's been a total distraction in every way, from the lack of focus on the other shows to them having to build it up and accommodate it. It might not even turn out to have been worthwhile as it's got a very short run IIRC, and may never be truly finished due to how much it costs!

Ah, I can't make my mind up. In some ways, it was great to see Mulder and Scully back together but it just felt a bit empty, like there was something missing. I think they had a real opportunity to reinvent the series and take it in a completely new direction, and time will tell, maybe it will. I just think bringing in some of the old cast is a missed opportunity to be honest. Towards the end of its original run, it disappeared up its own orrifice, and I fear it probably will again this time. Still, Gillian Anderson, eh?! She looks younger now than 20 years ago.

That's the first of two 'mythology' episodes done with now, the rest are standalone eps. It is good to see these two back together again, but Mulder has got to stop pulling the same [LIFTED] that he always pulls and Scully has to stop falling for it. It's as if they are both older, but nothing between them has actually altered between them, despite the intervening years. I think the thing that felt like it was missing was that there's been no growth from either of the characters. Perhaps this will change once we start seeing the individual episodes that don't tie-in with the overarching story themes. I guess we'll find out next week.

Yes, I'm hoping the first episode was just that, but with only a 6 episode run I was hoping it would have hit the ground running. Felt slow and plodding. Also, some seriously rubbish dialogue that even a Star Wars script editor would reject! It's also funny that I don't remember just how bad an actor David Duchovny actually is. He seems to use Mulder's nonchalant manner to mask his wooden acting perfectly - unless he's actually the best actor in the world and that's his act?! And... SPOILER ALERT... Bringing back The Smoking Man? Seriously, they fired a cruise missile at him in his hideout cave in the season finale!! WFT?! Like I said, they had a chance to reinvent this series and bring it bang up to date, instead it seems like they're retreading old ground. Die hard fans will probably welcome that, but it's the safe option.

The new episodes are sat there but I can't even keep up with the superhero stuff at the moment.

Nope. The mythology of the show was strong in that first episode. I missed out on the hype, just as I am with most every other show I am interested in. Mark
