I've pretty much convinced myself that I need a 14" CRT TV, to go with the Amiga, as I've read lots about the apparent lag when playing games on an LCD.

Any ideas the best place to look, preferably for a free one, but certainly no more than a tenner or so.

I have seen one on eBay and sent the seller a question, as it doesn't state whether there is a SCART connection but if anyone has any other suggestions...

I may try trawling the charity shops at the weekend, depending on the football fixtures.

Look for the Heart Foundation charity shops. They do larger furniture ones, which sell TVs. The one in Colchester seems to have LCDs and CRTs.

Freecycle or Gumtree for a free one, likely.

I did try Freecycle and Gumtree but had no joy. Thinking about it, there is a Heart Foundation place more or less on the way home from work. I'll pop in there, on the off chance.

Let's have a little Friday afternoon game, that I like to call "guess what the wife will say in I rock up from work with a portable TV under my arm?"

Good luck with finding one!
I know that in the USA, people who restore old arcade cabinets are finding it harder and harder to source CRTs, to the point where there's a small cottage industry in sourcing and repairing the tubes.
I ditched an old 22" (I think) CRT monitor a couple of years ago and I couldn't think when I last saw a CRT in the wild.

I've definitely seen them in the local British Heart Foundation shop in Peterborough (insert joke about the Fens). They were big TV ones though, don't think I saw any non-widescreen ones and nothing as small as 14".

Come to think about it my dad probably has a couple of CRT monitors kicking about unless mum managed to get him to throw them away. Would be 17" or there abouts.

Overgrown playground at the abandoned services at Junction22 of the M1. I took a panorama with my Ricoh Theta there.

Entering categories into the new Service Desk software has to be one of the most boring, soul destroying jobs ever. Which is why I'm doing it, instead of delegating.

Put some fun ones in there "for testing". Same for resolution codes.

Ordinarily, I would do, but the Operations Manager hates me as it is, so I don't want to give him any more ammunition, (slips in "Device smashed by rogue Ewok" into resolution field)

Thunder and lightning, very very frightening. (Not really, I quite like thunder storms as long as they don't blow up my broadband... again)

There is a massive thunderstorm going on 'round 'ere at the moment.

Your observation was spot on. Just been to the Heart Foundation shop in Manchester and picked up a 14" TV/Video for a tenner. Really happy! :D

AC/DC says Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose to join band for rest of tour | Music | The Guardian
http://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/a ... st-of-tour

That's one band who will not tolerate the singer being 'late'.
