HIGNFY - One of the most awkward episodes in years. Mangan's normally pretty funny, but his script or ad-libbing were badly letting him down. Doesn't help when Merton's pretty quiet, and possibly because he's got a UKIP member beside him being awkward.

Arrow - All this effort went into what should have been big drama scenes but they were so telegraphed they had no impact whatsoever. And even the script had to acknowledge the BS of the flashbacks!

Legends of Tomorrow - Had some brilliant ideas but it was all incredibly predictable because it needs to wrap things up in an hour. They simply don't know what they're doing with this show, as displayed with flashback sequences that had no purpose in the present, but may come in useful down the line. Funnily enough that all just fills random at best and filler at worst.

I bet the BBC won't repeat Blake's 7 though.

I'm sure someone told me that Banshee had been cancelled.

Just noticed it's three episodes into season four.

I thought the first two series' of Line of Duty were a bit silly, but the first twenty minutes of the new one were so bad I gave up. This sort of thing doesn't help (spoilers)

http://tinyurl.com/zpf7rej

I've seen quite a few articles on this show recently, and none of them were good. Even the Met. panicked and got an article in the Guardian it was so OTT lol.

You'd think the show had been written by one of those 99p authors on Amazon with twenty novels to their name and suspicious reviews.

Last week's American TV...

Supergirl - This show is slipping badly just when it should be getting better. It's fast becoming 'whatever gets us through'. Character moments have gone out the window in a rush to the finish line, and the McGuffins are hanging out of it.

Gotham - So meh that you realise Bruce Wayne is apparently the only person in Gotham with a computer. And even it's a desktop model.

SHIELD - Slowly but surely going somewhere. It's currently got a few too many threads going on for any heroes to be truly noticeable, though the villains are doing well.

Legends of Tomorrow - Another adventure away from the seriously stale Vandal Savage routine, but not a great one by any means. A DC cult favourite turns up and it would have made next to no difference if they hadn't. The actor wasn't given anything to do so you can't even blame them. Everything about it that could have been interesting seems to be held back for another bite of the cherry.

It really is incredible that they could take something potentially so cool and make it middle of the road. And they're still letting members of the team just bugger off or stay on the ship, or... Sometimes they apparently don't even tell people they're leaving lol.

The lack of a plot is so glaring that nearly everything has to be explained away in a clunky fashion. Including previous episodes! The writers clearly know they're lost. This must have one hell of a finale for it to get greenlit again...
