Minecraft for the first time in ages. Building a big house in creative mode. Just because.

Yeah, why use mouse and keyboard when your console aims for you?

It's Alien Isolation, if you're aiming anything at anything you're about to fail.

We're clearly playing different games, because there are more hazards than the alien itself; but a sustained burst can make it piss-off and re-think for a minute or two.

Dying Light demo - Not bad at all, it's basically an updated, non-buggy Dead Island (same team). It'll get dull pretty quickly, but it'll definitely be worth picking up once they've released it and all the DLC on one cheap disc

That gaming tablet has seen me playing various rubbish/brilliant comic book and movie games, including Punisher (really good, and you can tell the arcades and old skool consoles were on their way out, violent as fcuk!) Batman (some are awesome, some sh1t even for their time) Superman (terrible games so far) Robocop Vs. Terminator (pure win, but bloody difficult, and with tricky bosses) Ghostbusters (awful) I've also been playing any number of beat em ups (SoR, Final Fight, Mortal Kombat, sh1tty Street Fighter...), but one of my retro faves so far is Cannon Fodder

Mad Max - Brilliant so far, basically Uncharted with cars.

Most of the way through StarCraft 2 Legacy of the Void. Much fun, especially as you can use some from the units from SC1 for an extra hit of nostalgia. Blizzard do seem to have gone a bit nuts on the amount of cut-scene videos in the this instalment mind. The voice cast is pretty good though - John de Lancie, Michael Dorn and Claudia Christian are all in there.

Still playing this, haven't even touched Resi or Dying Light. As ever, I'm caught up in the looting

Still playing Mortal Kombat XL for the online modes that build up 'koins' for spending. They were designed to be a moneyspinner for increasingly BS Warner Brothers, but it actually keeps the game interesting if you ignore that nonsense.
The only thing I'm finding truly annoying is that things like Brutalities and Friendships now require '50% of health left, 2 stage interactions and a voodoo priest'. Why?!

Some nostalgia at the weekend - Gratuitous Space Battles and also Endless Space. My brother also pointed out that Steam has Star Wars Galactic Battlefront (which was based on the Age of Empires II engine IIRC), now updated for Windows 10 - the is something immensely satisfying about squelching Gungnans with At-AT's so I may have to splurge the £4 or whatever it was.

Got Galactic Battlegrounds - Steam sale for £2.30 or there abouts. Looks a little bit block on a 27" QHD display but hey ho.

Uncharted 4 - Can't say I'm blown away by this. So much of it feels like they want to show off the graphics with very little in the way of shooting action compared to the rest of the series. The graphics are stunning, but that's hardly the point. Like a lot of games these days, there's a painful driving section seemingly because someone had a cool side idea that unfortunately involved a car. I've been playing it for over 6 hours and it still doesn't feel like the story has truly got going. And that's saying something when the cutscenes are this bloody lengthy. The shooting is still pretty naff

I kind of agree - I'm less impressed with U4 than I expected to be. It is technically brilliant and, if anything, I do enjoy the 'interludes' as being a change of pace but it just doesn't feel the way an Uncharted game should. It all feels a bit dour and serious, whereas Uncharted games should be full on Saturday morning serial Flash Gordon lunacy type stuff. I sit there thinking 'this is all great, but I should be having a bit more fun...'
And yes, the 'open world' driving bits were massively oversold and are in fact the clunkiest thing since the mako in Mass Effect.
Also, the MP is really not good. Not even as good as the MP in Uncharted 2 for pete's sake.
