Watched two episodes of Arrow and Flash... Realised that they perfectly encapsulate DC's biggest problem - lack of humour. Even a duff episode can be saved with a few one liners from sinking too deep down. Not that these episodes really had that problem, but Flash for instance would have been far weaker without a break in tone every so often. Well done to Kevin Smith on that score.
However, there's a persistence with the current villains in both shows that continues to be dragged out beyond reason. Stuff you saw months ago is only beginning to come to fruition now, and you'd be hard pushed to say the build up to the upcoming finales was worth it. Both shows need drastically different new arcs and from reading around I think the writers know that.
They really need to plan better as well. Even non-comic book readers can see what's around the corner long before it ever happens, currently.

I hope they can write them back into AoS, my only reason for tolerating their departure was the promise of their own show; although I'd much rather they remained in the first place - I'm not overly fond of a million and one different facets of the Marvel universe happening all at once. Never seen it - it seemed an unnecessary step IMO. I enjoyed it, but it probably should have ended after season six.

Carter beefed up the background story for all sorts of things whilst being a thriller and a comedy, no easy trick. It'll be back in some form I imagine. I'd highly recommend it.

Cheers. The last couple of episodes of Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow, and SHIELD have all been good to great.

Some of these trailers make the shows look awful, but that's quite common and not really a proper indicator... New TV 2016: MacGyver, Conviction, 24 trailers & more | Den of Geek http://www.denofgeek.com/uk/tv/new-tv-s ... ilers-more

Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl are all going to crossover. *sigh* I can't imagine this is going to be a good long-term thing. Supergirl and The Flash have already crossed universes, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow will both just be one season old, they need to exist on their own before crossing over and mashing together with other shows. This is just too soon, in my opinion. Mark

It certainly never works out well for the individual shows, since entire story arcs get re-jigged to accommodate But hey, get used to it, there's every indication that Green Lantern will make a TV appearance at some point, though I wonder how that sits with the supposed policy of 'one or the other' when it comes to DC's movies and TV output. Then again, there's no way they're killing off TV Flash, so... That's all ironic coming from DC, when the first thing they always do is have a massive comic crossover that inevitably disappears up it's own arse and requires a reboot.

Forgot it was on. Watched on iPlayer. Couldn't agree more Simple format, smart people and fun facts. I wonder how thick the panes are in the quadruple glazed windows on the ISS.

Gotham - In recent episodes they've finally gotten the right mix of horror and craft to go with it, which is what this episode had. Right until the last ten minutes where it went back to 'This'll do!' Gotham. Holy Trump, Batman!
SHIELD - The last two episodes were pretty good, continuing the realisation that you need a sense of humour too if you're going down a dark path. It teases some brilliant scenarios for the next season, assuming it happens.
Flash - Again, good use of humour, but it's starting to feel like there's no consequence to anything that happens recently, and that's a real problem for this episode when it could have been great.
Arrow - Had some great action and dialogue scenes, it's just it keeps having to cut corners to keep it's characters in play. And for the love of Christ, if we really must have the dull island flashbacks, could we actually have them tie into the current arc proper?
