If Labour win in 2020, it'll be because the Tories have destroyed themselves, not because Labour deserve it. (Based on current party policies).

We really don't know what policies they're going to run in 2020 yet. We know the general stances but next to no specifics from anybody. Not really surprising to be honest, given the election is four years away. You could also point out that, as this government has ably demonstrated, regardless of what you say your policies are beforehand, if you get a majority government you can pretty much do whatever the heck you like.

Question Time last night reminded just who... odd..on a personal level Ed MIlliband is. He's a nice enough bloke and I agree with a lot of his ideas but there's just something weird about him. He was never good PM material in hindsight.

But isn't that how all elections work? People vote for more of the same until the party in power screw up so badly that they decide to give to others a go.

It does when it's a pretty much guaranteed two horse race, yes.

He keeps implying some dangerous threat but has never explained just how it would be so awful.

It would be awful because it doesn't align with his political views. He's not exactly known for admitting he's ever been wrong about anything after all.

He doesn't see to have realised that pretty much everyone else has moved on and his opinion is now essentially worthless. Any gravitas or goodwill he established in the early years of his tenancy have been washed away by the actions of the latter half of his leadership and his fairly self-interested actions after leaving office.

Nobody believes he has the party's interests at heart any more. Nobody believes he has the people's interests at heart any more. The only interests Tony Blair has any more are Tony Blair's. And nobody else cares about those.

That girl attracts controversy like a magnet somehow, but the self-important press will really push back against any perceived slights.

There has been a lot of commenting from certain quarters Twitter that she is somehow keen to report on any event that puts Corbyn in a bad light, but seems to be wilfully ignoring the problems the Tories are having with that pesky election fraud investigation. I would say that the only report about the latter I have seen on the BBC was a mention in their London local news bulletin after the main news.

It's a distraction in fact, but the press really don't like their own authority/value being questioned. For a group of people who spend most of their lives giving politicians of all flavours much more grief than they probably deserve, they're incredibly thin skinned should anyone start throwing any of it their way.

To be fair Kuenssberg herself doesn't seem to have been that bothered and had dealt with it quite well but the self-importance displayed in some of the press coverage of what was pretty mild behaviour compared to PMQs every week is, well, it doesn't show them well at all.

Kuenssberg has made a couple of pretty partisan mistakes (IMO) since coming into office but she's not Fox News bad so maybe we should thank our lucky stars. The BBC's lack of coverage of the possible election fraud also doesn't show the BBC in a good light. They're claiming they can't report on it due to the ongoing investigation, but it doesn't seem to stop them a lot of the rest of the time (cf: the raid on Cliff Richards' house).
