If true, then this will really go the the wire. I’d like to see a decent majority for the result, whatever it might be. If the decisions is made based on a 1 or 2%, then I expect there’ll be a lot of people making a lot of noise out it not going their way.

i predicted an overwhelming out vote when this all started. i predict the same now.
everyone i know family, friends and at work all are voting out.
on the ground at the lower levels were all my family and friends work including myself are voting out.
all the customers we deal with daily, working people, state out. nowhere have i heard remain.

but we will wait and see after tomorrow ...

I just really hope people vote for the right reasons. I see a lot on Facebook where opinion seems to be swayed (particularly with regards to immigrants) based on untruths. It turns out false story/photo/image holds a lot of sway with the idiots I'm "friends" with even if two minutes on Google can show it to be utter bollocks.

I'm closer now to voting the opposite way I thought I would when this whole thing was announced. It's an in vote for me I think. The anarchist in me would like to see what would happen if we voted out but I find the arguments to stay more compelling.

Yup. At this point the important thing to say is 'Get out and vote if you haven't done a postal vote, whichever side you vote for'. If we have a strong turnout, whichever way it goes, that will make the result more hard to question afterwards.

Might be pertinent to point out that the referendum is entirely advisory, not mandatory.
So even if Leave get +50% of the vote, the government is under no obligation to do so.
Worth bearing in mind.

Fact-Checking Brexit: The Conclusion
I’ve now spent the last three weeks fact-checking every detail on Brexit that I possibly could.
I’ve read 90-page government reports on my way to a wedding. I’ve hacked through academic analyses of the EU when I really should have been promoting my Virtual Reality game. I’ve treated myself to a fun Google search for the accounts of pro-Remain activists to check that they’re not biased. And so on.
(Here are all the posts I wrote as a result. )
It has been surprisingly interesting, in some ways. And frustrating in others.
But that’s not what you care about.
You care about who’s telling the truth, who isn’t, and who you should vote for.
So who’s more reliable?
I came into this leaning cautiously to Remain. However, I really hoped to find that my initial impressions of Leave were wildly wrong, and I was hoping they had very strong arguments.
Why? Because the country might vote for Leave. And if that happens I’d much rather be saying “well, at the end of the day both sides have a good point” than “oh god, oh god, we’re in real trouble now”.
Unfortunately, “well, at the end of the day both sides have a good point” is not what I found.

I know it’s a Mirror link, but I watched the debate on Channel 4 last night. Most of it was celebrity nonsense and Paxman failing to control the audence in the way that Dibleby would, but Sheila Hancock’s speech was really worth waiting for.

The latest bit of nonsense that‘s coming out of this is the idea that if you want to vote Leave, that you need to take your own pen with you because they (apparently MI5, but who knows - some faceless bureaucrat) will erase your cross and put a new one in the box that will favour Remain. This is because there are pencils at polling booths.

If you consider the logistical efforts needed to pull this stunt off (and before you consider how pencils, rubbers and paper interact), then it’s patently nonsense.

When has absurdity ever got in the way of a good conspiracy theory? Plus, you've got to get your excuse that it was fixed in early in case you loose

In any case, if the state was that corrupt they wouldn't be resorting to rubbing out individual votes, they'd just swap out the ballot boxes with ones containing the desired result. And if that was going on you can guarantee an absent minded civil servant would leave something incriminating on a train or park bench. :D

There's nothing to identify you on the ballot paper, so why go to the trouble of rubbing out your X when they can just replace the ballot paper itself?

You expect this lunacy to be logical?

More actually, if they didn't like the result they'd just ignore it and carry on doing whatever they wanted to. It's not as if anyone can do anything about it for at least four years.

Forgive me - I don't know what I was thinking.
